Charla abierta Paisaje y resiliencia. Visiones alternativas frente al escenario del desastre

Esta semana es especialmente sensible para todos. Por este motivo, MAPP organiza una charla abierta titulada «Paisaje y resiliencia: visiones alternativas frente al escenario del desastre», dictada por Adriana Chávez (México) y Óscar Malaspina (Perú), en donde se presentarán distintos casos de desastres en México y Perú.

La invitación (previa inscripción) es para el día 24 de marzo a las 6.30 p.m. en el Centro Cultural de la PUCP.

Biografías de los expositores:

Adriana Chávez holds a Master from Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD) in Urbanism, Landscape and Ecology and a Master in Architecture II. She graduated in 2014 and was recipient of the Urban Project Prize for best thesis project. Since 2015 she has been working as an urban resilience advisor for Mexico City’s Resilience Office within the initiative 100 Resilient Cities pioneered by the Rockefeller Foundation. She collaborated closely to the CDMX Chief Resilience Officer Arnoldo Matus, participating on the creation of Mexico City’s Resilience Strategy, leading urban planning and mobility areas. She also carried on projects such as a Water Resilience Strategy for Xochimilco and contributed to Mexico’s City Urban Development Plan. Within the resilience office, she contributed largely to build the urban resilience agenda in the city, contributing in projects such as “Towards a Water Sensitive Mexico City” in collaboration with CDMX Public Space Authority, De Urbanisten and Deltares. She is the co-founder of the Agency of Urban Resilience, a design collaborative and think tank that focuses on implementing innovative urban solutions. Currently, she is also an advisor for the Santiago Regional Government carrying out the Santiago’s Resilience Strategy. 
Adriana is also a professor at Urban Design Studio in Universidad Anáhuac in Mexico City and she has taught at the Architectural Association Visiting School in Mexico City. In 2015 she was an Associate Professor in Landscape Architecture co-instructing a design studio with Iñaki Echeverria at Harvard Graduate School of Design. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City where she graduated with honors in 2008. In 2012, she was recipient of the Cemex Award, Marcelo Zambrano Architect awarded to a talented emerging professional in Mexico every year. She has collaborated as research assistant in the Harvard Graduate School of Design at the INFONAVIT Project on Social Housing, the ZOFNAS Project for Sustainable Infrastructure and Exumas Lab. She also collaborated with the Urban Risk Lab at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Opsys working as Research Assistant for “The Haiti Evacuation System Initiative” for the World Bank. In 2012, she worked and conducted research in Thailand, collaborating with the NGO, Design for Disasters. 
Óscar Malaspina es egresado de la Facultad de Arquitectura y Urbanismo de la Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (FAU-PUCP) en el año 2007. Estudió la Maestría en Diseño Urbano en la Escuela de Diseño de la Universidad de Harvard (GSD) en el 2013. Actualmente, trabaja como profesor de la FAU-PUCP desde el 2008 y es miembro fundador de  Victoria Lab, laboratorio de Innovación del grupo Intercorp.  Ha sido consultor del Banco Mundial y del Ministerio de Educación del Perú en proyectos relacionados con mitigación de riesgos e  infraestructura educativa. También ha trabajado para el Laboratorio del Riesgo Urbano del Instituto de Tecnología de Massachusetts (MIT), y las ONG Design for Disasters y Espacio Expresión.
