The career of Mechanical Engineering is accredited by the Technical Committee on Engineering Accreditation of ICACIT, http://www.icacit.org.pe and by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org

The mechanical engineer is in charge of the design, manufacture, production, maintenance, control and management of industrial machines and equipment. The essential mission is to make that the Peruvian industry uses competitive and adequate technology.

For this, the advantage as a mechanical engineer acquired by a student who studied at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú is high professional and humanist training, which enables the student to hold high responsibility managerial jobs, to act both within the professional and independent exercise and business field.

The student will develop logical reasoning and good capabilities of abstraction, imagination, analysis, synthesis, visual perception and manual ability. Moreover, the student should be a planner and become interested in the orderly management of objects, instruments and data. Also ability and preference for science, technology and informatics will be essential.
