About the career

Statistic is the science and art of giving meaning to data, with the aim at providing theory and methods to extract information from them and be able to solve problems of the real world. Statistics works with uncertainty: it relates to other disciplines such as medicine, economics, agriculture, business, engineering, social and human sciences, among others. At present, it is used around the world to support decision-making within governments, political parties, financial companies, companies of public opinion, insurance companies, banks, hospitals, social organizations and industries.

The statistics growth around the world over the last years has been so big that 2013 was declared as the International Statistics Year. This situation and the development experienced by Peru has notably increased the demand of statistical professionals, therefore Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú will offer this fascinating academic program under a new and modern applied profile, based on solid principles making a difference if talking about a graduate of Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú.
