What classes can you take

Classes in the following topics of study are available in Estudios Generales Letras:

  • Social and Political Sciences
  • History
  • Philosophy
  • Theology
  • Linguistics and Literature
  • Natural Sciences
  • Mathematics and Logic

Classes in these subjects will, for the most part, be worth 4 credits. Most of the classes offered during the 2 years of Estudios Generales Letras are introductory and structured in a way to give the student a general background on the topic. Keep this in mind when you are choosing your classes. It is recommended that you pick something that sounds interesting, useful, and fun, while being aware of the potential of its introductory nature.

There are also classes that provide a more in-depth look at a particular topic (and complement the students’ other studies) in the following areas:

  • Art
  • Social studies
  • Humanistic studies
  • Language
  • Math
  • Management

Be aware that these courses are usually worth 3 credits. Activity classes (including everything from chorus to ecotourism) are worth 2 credits.
