In 2004, the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP) founded the School of Management and Executive Leadership with the objective of addressing the managerial challenges of diverse organizations at both national and international levels. Eight years later, a team of students from the School established the student organization “Public Managers Network for Development” to disseminate, transform, and foster engagement in Public Management affairs. Since 2019, following an initiative led by former members, the organization has been comprised of a new generation of students specializing in public management.

Womerang was founded as a student-led initiative by a group of female students from the School of Management and Executive Leadership focused on the issue of gender disparities in labor opportunities. This concern motivated them to embark on an international experience at Harvard University in Massachusetts, participating in the Intercollegiate Business Convention (IBC) organized by Harvard Undergraduate Women in Business (HUWIB).
