El profesor Thomas Wallgren ofrecerá en esta conferencia una revisión de la filosofía de Wittgenstein de acuerdo a los siguientes puntos:
- Recent evolution in Wittgenstein studies
- How the reception keeps failing
- The availability problem
- Why the reception has kept failing
- The legitimacy and limitations of "gold mining"
- The three (not four) stages idea
- Textual evidence for the three stages idea
- Characteristics of Wittgenstein's conception of philosophy after october 1936 –overview
- Historical forerunners and why they have been difficult to see
- The attraction of transformative scepticism: placing words in our lives as work on self and as caring for community / political intervention
- Why relativism is not the difficult problem for scepticism?
- Is blindness a bad thing? Identifying the difficult problem and how to deal with it (Wittgenstein's withdrawal, Gandhi's non-violence as two varieties of Tolstoy's vision)
Sobre el expositor:
Thomas Wallgren es professor titular de filosofía en la Universidad de Helsinki, donde ha sido Jefe del Departamento de Filosofía. Es autor de Transformative Philosophy: Socrates, Wittgenstein, and the Democratic Spirit of Philosophy (2006) y de numerosos artículos sobre teoría crítica, ética, filosofía de la mente y Wittgenstein. Actualmente dirige el proyecto de investigación “A Science of the Soul? Wittgenstein, Freud and Neuroscience in Dialogue” (financiado por la Academia de Finlandia) y es el Director de los Archivos von Wright y Wittgenstein de la Universidad de Helsinki (http://www.helsinki.fi/wwa/).

[post_content] => Con motivo de los 15 años del fallecimiento de Franklin Pease G.Y., la Facultad de Letras y Ciencias Humanas, el Programa de Estudios Andinos y el Departamento de Humanidades realizarán un coloquio que tiene como fin discutir la vigencia y proyección de la obra y la docencia de este historiador para entender el mundo andino.
Participarán reconocidos académicos de diversas disciplinas del medio local junto con la participación especial de la historiadora española Teresa Cañedo-Argüelles de la Universidad de Alcalá. Asimismo, durante este coloquio se realizará la Ceremonia de entrega del premio Franklin Pease G.Y de Estudios Andinos 2013-2014.
El evento se realizará el martes 25 y el miércoles 26 de noviembre en la Sala de Grados de la Facultad de Letras y Ciencias Humanas.

Sobre la autora:
María del Carmen Martín Rubio es Doctora en Historia de América por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Entre sus publicaciones destacan: 5 ediciones de Suma y narración de los Incas, descubierta por la autora en 1987, En el encuentro de dos mundos, los Incas de Vilcabamba (1988), Historia de Maynas, un paraíso perdido en el Amazonas (1991), De las costumbres y conversión de los Indios de Perú (1998), El Marqués de Villagarcía, Virrey del Perú (1736-1745) (2010), Historias del Imperio inca (2012).

[post_content] => La especialidad de Arqueología organizará la próxima semana un ciclo de conferencias de arqueología internacional, que contará con la presencia de la Dra. Kirstina Jembert (Universidad de Lund-Suecia) y la Dra. Laura Carusso (ESPOL, Guayaquil, y Escuela Politécnica del Litoral).
La Dra. Kristina Jember ofrecerá dos charlas: "The viking cultural and social identities" y "Sea-farers routes and encountering". Ambas se realizarán en la Sala de Conferencias del Centro de Estudios Orientales del Departamento de Humanidades PUCP el miércoles 5 y viernes 7 de noviembre a las 7 p.m., respectivamente.
De la misma forma, la Dra. Laura Carusso presentará dos ponencias: "Cazadores-recolectores y el uso de la madera. Estudio de la movilidad a partir de la Arqueobotánica" y "Crónica de viajeros y Arqueobotánica. El uso de la madera entre grupos cazadores-recolectores patagónicos". Ambas se realizarán en la Sala de Conferencias del Centro de Estudios Orientales del Departamento de Humanidades PUCP el jueves 6 y viernes 7 de noviembre a las 6 p.m., respectivamente.
